The experienced Latvian driver previously secured an autocross championship title in his home country and was a regular front-runner in the Super2000 category of both the national and Baltic rallycross championships. Ivo Gabrāns entered the debuting category of the FIA European Rallycross Championship this year, and showed strong pace behind the wheel of his Renault Clio during the ERX4 heats in the opening round. He finished third in his semi-final and closed the weekend sixth in the overall classification in Riga.
