We could also put it this way; mainly women. Well-known or not, there is no rallycross or autocross in Nyirád without women. Not just an Eb race, but not even an ob race. The starting grid of the Nyirád Racing Center, which already hosts the World Rallycross Championship race this year, is unique because only female marshals are included among the locations on the race calendar. Since the return of the European Rallycross Championship in Nyirád in 2022, only women have been in charge of the starting procedure, led by Ágnes Kozma, who twice won the Sports Judge of the Year award of the Hungarian National Motorsport Association.
It is also curious that about a third of the sports referees working on the field are women. Two years ago, 13, and last year 16 female sports judges participated in the running of the European championship races. Among them there are those who have years or even decades of experience. We must single out Gabi Migály, Eszter Tamás, Móni Ivicz, Tünde Schliszka and Melinda Meszes-Tóth, who are there from time to time, year after year, at the rallycross competitions. And when it's time, the head of timing is Anita Boros-Józsa, also one of the regulars of the competitions.
Women also perform background work in important positions near the track. Móni Kárai and Ági Erdélyi are responsible for accreditation and ticket sales, if you like, they are the bastions of admission. Jenny Kárai is the indispensable leader of the competition office, who is occasionally assisted by Andi Gárdíán in her work. The latter takes photos in his spare time and also helps the media team that received the highest rating last year. Gina Kárai is responsible for the sale of souvenirs, and Kata Somogyi is the track's security chief.
Márti Zubai is the competitor's liaison, figuratively speaking, the news goes through him to the competitors, and by the way, he has a 30-year history as a sports judge. Bogi Budai is one of the official inspectors of the competition, who guides the FIA celebrities with inexhaustible patience in his free time. His previous experience as a director is worth its weight in gold, since under his leadership the 2012 European Championship race won the Race of the Year award in the voting of the FIA Offroad Committee. Ivette Bozsó holds the post of deputy competition director, but despite the position of serious responsibility, she is always in the mood to smile. The three of them were previously members of various FIA committees.
And speaking of the chessboard analogy, you also need a leader who is none other than Gyuris Orsi, the organizer of the European Rallycross Championship races of the past two years, as well as this year's World Championship and European Championship. A determined, purposeful leader who always writes in the first person plural. When he says "we", he means the owners of the Nyirád Racing Center, the regular management team, and last but not least, all the helpers who individually give their all to what he calls the TEAM.
So women in the main role, without whom there is no rallycross EC, rallycross WC and autocross EC in Hungary.
