On the international stage, Markus Røsrud made his mark last year at Höljes in the FIA European Rallycross Championship. During the Swedish race weekend, he was almost untouchable in qualifying, winning three out of the four heats to secure pole position for the semi-final. However, he collided with André Sousa there, damaging his car and receiving a penalty, which knocked him out of further contention. This year, he plans a full season in ERX3 with the Škoda Fabia. However, he suffered bad luck at the Riga season opener: on the final lap of the semi-final, he was involved in a massive collision with Dylan Dufas' car. Both crashed into the concrete wall at high speed, but in a stroke of good luck amidst the misfortune, both drivers walked away from their cars unscathed.
