José Oliveira began his career in 2021 behind the wheel of a BMW E36, quickly progressing and winning three Portuguese rallycross championship titles. Since 2022 he has consistently entered the Portuguese round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship in ERX1. He started strongly in 2022 with an excellent ninth place, but failed to finish in the top ten over the following two years. Last season, however, he achieved a breakthrough by reaching the Montalegre final, where he claimed a sensational sixth place.
