In 2022, at just 18 years old, Patrick O'Donovan became the youngest driver ever to win the British elite category, successfully defending the title over the next two seasons. The 2023 FIA European Rallycross Championship bronze medallist — who claimed three podiums that year, including a victory in Höljes — entered the following season as one of the clear favourites. Remaining with Peugeot and maintaining the same ambitions, the aggressive and fearless driver aimed to move further up the standings, which he achieved. In 2024 he won the first three rounds and finished third in the fourth, securing the Euro RX1 title. Patrick also debuted in the World Championship field in Hong Kong in 2023, immediately claiming third place. Last year he stepped up further, contesting half a WRX season. After finishing eighth in Portugal, fifth in Sweden and seventh at Nyirád, he ended the season eighth overall. He also briefly competed in the Extreme H series before announcing his return to Euro RX1 this year to reclaim the continental title. Following the Latvian round, he currently sits fifth in the standings in an exceptionally competitive field.
